Bailey Rail Training and Development

Training and Career Development
Our success and reputation is rooted in the calibre and commitment of our staff. That is why Bailey invests more than £3 million each year in training and career development.
We are proud of our unique in-house craft training programme and our own Leadership Academy at Denton Hall, Ilkley, West Yorkshire.
Each year we will add 140 new recruits to our apprentice training programmes. We see learning as our competitive advantage. Training and development are key to retaining and motivating staff at all levels; they add value to the individual, the Company and to our clients.
Career Development
At Bailey Rail we offer continuous personal improvement through training and career development for every employee. Our Performance Appraisal and Development Scheme (PADS) provides a framework for this process. PADS helps us map out a person’s ambitions, their career aspirations, and the way to realising the potential of all employees by focusing on their future development needs.
We actively encourage staff to achieve membership of professional bodies through training, attending meetings and the reimbursement of fees.
Management Training
Our management training is formulated to equip our people with the skills to sustain our growth in a competitive and changing industry.
Bailey has long been recognised as a leader in innovative training techniques and personal development. Our Leadership at Denton Hall offers a comprehensive programme covering business management, technical, supervisory and communications skills together with safety and contractual training.
Skills Training
We also offer a full technical training programme for our operatives, supervisors and project management teams. The training programme covers many areas within the electrical, mechanical and communications sector including our own, in-house ACOPS gas safety training that is fully accredited as run in partnership with the Leeds Technical College. HVAC commissioning is also instructed in-house to the CIBSE Commissioning Codes.
